These terms are adapted from the service language used on Window Makers estimates or work orders we provide you at the estimate. They are intended to give our customers a clear overview of how quotes, deposits, scheduling, change orders, restoration risks, and final payment are handled.
Important: If a signed estimate, work order, or approved change order contains more specific language for your project, that signed document controls.
Window Makers LLC will perform work in accordance with the scope of work listed on your estimate, work order, or approved change order. Our services may include historic window restoration, rotting wood window repair and restoration, wood rot repair, sash repair, glass work performed within broader restoration projects, door repair, trim repair, and related restoration work.
Your quote reflects the work discussed during consultation and any visible conditions observed at the time of inspection. If the scope changes after work begins, pricing may increase or decrease depending on the work requested and the conditions encountered.
Changes requested after work begins may be recorded on an installer field work order or updated estimate and must be approved before added or revised work is completed. Updated pricing will reflect the changes requested.
During your project, you may elect to add additional work, replacement glass, sash work, or related services. Unless otherwise agreed in writing, final payment for completed original work may not be withheld solely because add-on work remains pending or because special-order materials or glass are still in transit.
A 50% down payment is required for work in excess of $1,000. The remaining balance is due in full immediately upon completion unless otherwise stated in writing. Your estimate, any approved changes, and these terms together serve as notice of the amount due, and a separate invoice may not always be issued.
If an inspection by a spouse, owner, or owner's agent is required before final payment, that person must be available at the time of completion. Any late-fee, finance-charge, or collections language stated on your signed estimate or work order will control unpaid balances.
By requesting service, you are reserving labor time and, in many cases, materials that may not be recoverable once ordered. Down payments or deposits applied to special-order items, including sash components and glass ordered specifically for your project, are generally non-refundable once those materials have been ordered or put into production.
If work is cancelled before special-order materials are committed, refundable amounts, if any, will be determined after deducting costs already incurred. Down payments may also be non-refundable if work is cancelled on short notice after labor time has been reserved.
Work will not be scheduled until Window Makers receives any required signed estimate or work authorization together with the required deposit. Access to the work area is required during normal business hours unless otherwise arranged.
Some restoration work requires the removal of stops, trim, glazing components, or other materials adjacent to glass. In those situations, glass may crack, break, or reveal pre-existing weakness during removal or handling. This risk can be higher on older assemblies, fixed glass, set picture windows, radius tops, and units with aged seals.
While Window Makers uses care throughout the restoration process, some breakage or seal failure may be unavoidable due to age, movement, vibration, hidden deterioration, or prior installation conditions. Customers should understand that older insulated glass seals may fail during or after restoration-related handling.
Our work may improve or resolve some known water infiltration issues, but not every leak condition can be fully diagnosed through visible inspection alone. Water intrusion can originate from roofing, flashing, siding, masonry, framing, hidden envelope failures, or other conditions outside the direct scope of quoted work.
Unless specifically included in writing, Window Makers is not undertaking a whole-envelope water investigation. Any leak-related correction beyond the quoted scope requires additional evaluation and separate approval.
Warranty coverage, if offered for your project, is subject to the workmanship and material terms stated on your signed estimate, invoice, or separate warranty language. Normal expansion and contraction, movement in aged structures, hidden deterioration, and conditions outside the quoted scope may affect outcomes over time.
